‘Looking in the Mirror’  Self Portraits

Take a closer look at yourself. Who are you, what are you? A self portrait is more than the image in the mirror by exploring a variety of mixed media techniques (including fabric & thread) and approaches to recording and expressing who you are. Be prepared to be critical!

Transferring Images & Text (inc Inkjet Printing onto Fabric)

In this workshop we will be taking a look at how to get your image from screen to fabric in the simplest ways using ordinary fabrics and a few simple ‘kitchen sink’ techniques Techniques for transferring images & text onto cloth; solvent transfers, medium lifts & commercial papers.

Microcosm - working in miniature

Working at a much smaller scale is not just a case of making all the elements of your work smaller, if anything it will emphasise all the parts that aren’t successful.

In this workshop we will be taking a look at size and scale using ‘Inchies’ or ‘Artist Trading Cards’ as a vehicle. It can be fabric or paper based or both

Silkscreen printing for beginners

Take a look at simple silkscreen printing for textiles. Using very simple techniques such as cut stencil, simple handpainted stencils or no stencils to create surface pattern.  This is course for those who want to learn the basics of silkcreen printing and how to create images for a screen.
